Five Guys Burgers & Fries is new to central Austin but anyone who has ever spent time in DC, Boston, Atlanta, Madison, STL, etc.. already know the goodness that is Five Guys! Good cheap burgers and fries, definitely check out this spot on your next lunch break or casual dinner. Simple menu but with over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger, it is hard to get bored. Downside: no veggie burger, no milkshakes, long lines, and pricier than P. Terry’s. Upside: fantastic burger, famous fries, 15 free burger toppings, grilled cheese, fresh ground beef (no freezers on premise), and free peanuts while you are waiting in line. FYI: call and place a to-go order if in a time crunch, rush times are busy busy. Austin’s franchise is owned by the principles of C3 entertainment.
the college slacker says: Can’t complain when a new burger joint opens in Austin. A little $$$ when I have to spend over $10 for a combo meal but one of the best burgers in town so I will be making repeat visits.
the spoiled brat says: fast food is never healthy but it doesn’t hurt that this place is trans fat-free. Definitely order the single burger unless you want to be in a food coma. I’m always open to Zagat rated places.
