Not sure where to dump the Christmas Tree in Austin after the holidays?  If you are a customer of City of Austin’s garbage collection, you only need to put your tree on the curb and they will haul it away for recycling.  Non-customers can drop their tree off at Zilker Park.  The shredded trees will make mulch free for the taking of the general public and the needles will make Dillo Dirt.  Dillo Dirt is an organic compost made from recycled trimmings and these bags are sold at a number of nurseries, landscape supply stores, and other retailers.  FYI: If your tree is taller than 6 feet, cut it in half for the garbage collectors and obviously fake trees are not part of this program.
