The food! Finally!  La Condesa is Austin’s newest Mexican Restaurant located across from Lambert’s on 2nd St.  And the food is good, very good.   Menu items were very colorful, refreshingly different from other offerings around town, and delicious.    This place is definitely trendy (you can tell its the second location of a Dallas hotspot) but it still keeps it real with a nice waitstaff and good tunes.  Over lunch, I heard The Kooks and Kings of Leon.  Bravo to whoever does the music.  One of my favorite things about La Condesa is the cane-sugar soda, Mexico style.  Flavors include Cola, Diet Cola, Lemon-Lime, Ginger Ale, and Birch Beer.  As for the alcohol, you have your choice of tequila, wine, beer, classic and signature cocktails.  The wine list is very well priced, bottles start at $26 and cocktails are $10-$12.  But I am most eager to order a Tequila flight, as this is the only  menu in Austin I have seen this on.  Maybe on my next visit I’ll have the El Doctor’s Suggestion: Don Julio Reposado, Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia, and Del Maguey Minero to round out the trio.  One negative of La Condesa: chips and salsa are $4.  In this town you take it for granted since its free most everywhere else.  FYI: If you order 72 hours in advance, your dinner party can enjoy an entire suckling pig at market price.

It is very easy to eat healthy here which is not normal at Mexican restaurants. Good news for me because I love this place!
