As you can tell this week, I am on a major food budget (bought too many dresses this month) and so it’s been trailer eating and happy hours all week. El Chile downtown is the best place in Austin right now for happy hour because until they get their liquor license, FREE DRINKS! Otherwise known as the ultimate Charlie’s Special (he’s the awesome owner I wrote about here). In addition, appetizers are always half off during El Chile’s happy hour starting at 4pm daily, running $2-$5 each. For 4 drinks and 3 appetizers, the bill was $10. El Chile, keeping the happy in happy hour since 2009! FYI: Only the downtown location has free drinks right now which are not limited to happy hour. Buy anything off the menu at dinner and take advantage of the ultimate Charlie’s special.
