San Antonio based Sushi Zushi recently opened an Austin location in the new downtown 5th Street Commons development. I remember from visiting the Dallas location that my favorite thing they offer is riceless rolls; instead of rice and seaweed, they wrap a roll with cucumber. I’m not a huge fan of rice so this is amazing, and this helps to balance out all the creamy and fried rolls! Delivery is available which no other sushi joint in Austin is offering right now. FYI: park in the free parking garage behind Mean Eyed Cat, you can enter the restaurant through a back door.
Green Mussels Dynamite, probably one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life

Storefront at the 5th St. Commons development.
This menu is bigger than a jewish deli’s menu, the other side has equally as many items. Seriously, its overwhelming to choose! But its awesome that you can have something new on every visit for the rest of your life!
Salmon tower appetizer
The Cosimo roll, deep fried goodness!
The LIR roll, I would probably ask for the hot and sour sauce on top to be on the side next time. It’s spiciness cancelled every other taste.
This restaurant is huge, plenty of sushi bar, private rooms, and booths out front seating

This place is very average. Seeing as how there are so many sushi places in town that are better in terms of food, decor, and location I can’t see any reason to go again.
