Open since Thursday, Moo Moo’s is the newest food trailer to hit South Austin. The stars here are mini burgers, two to an order, in JV (basic toppings) or Varsity (deluxe toppings) options. You can mix and match if you’d like, but remember, mini burgers are much bigger than sliders so try not to over order! They keep it fresh and local here as the buns are purchased down the street from Moonlight Bakery, the milkshakes are made with Amy’s ice cream, and the beef from Restaurant Depot is never frozen and made into patties on site. Since I first wrote this post, Moo Moo’s developed a homemade veggie patty called ‘The Teachers Pet’ and consists of a portabella mushroom stuffed with grilled onions, topped w/ swiss cheese, avocados, and chipotle mayo served on a toasted bun. I like this newcomer to South Austin and hope it will succeed, which I’m sure it will due to the quality food and nice owners. Credit card and cash accepted.

Look for this sign a couple blocks from Uchi on the same side away from downtown

The Beefcake: double patties, double cheese, plus grilled onions

Hand cut fries
Bottled drinks, I took the last Mexican Coke they had, get em while they last!

For $2.79 you can make it a combo and get a bottled drink, fries, and little bag of cookies.
Fantastic dining partner Lila
For just under $9, all you see above. 2 people could share this.
Don’t let the heat keep you from dining outdoors, Moo Moo’s has multiple fans blowing on the tables. This is a cute little setup complete with xmas lights and The Police blaring over the speakers.

College Slacker
The burger and trailer craze are starting to annoy me! In saying that, both trends work with my budget.
Spoiled Brat
The trailer name is a bit silly but there is no comparison to Amy's ice cream milkshakes. Two french manicured thumbs up.

You can’t help but LOVE what these guys are doing.
Defeating the overhead that’s killing other businesses in a down economy,
and passing the affordability on to you.
Now THAT’s a recipe for success!!
I hope I can get a franchise out here in my neck of the woods soon!

Just got back from checking this place out. For someone looking for great char-grilled burgers in a town full of plain grilled burgers, the burgers were great. Even the bacon was nice and crispy with a little char on them. Its hard to find real fire cooked burgers these days and these fit the bill. Its the way burgers are supposed to be…cooked with FIRE!!!
