Annie’s Cafe & Bar is one of my new favorites in Austin as I have written about the soft opening here, happy hour here, and the grand opening party here. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night, I swear it is always packed here! And for good reason, delicious food is made fresh to order, drinks are made the old fashioned way, and if you are in a rush, there are unbelievable soups and salad ready for a quick to-go. You can tell the business crowd missed the old Apple Annie’s as they flock here in droves but for newbies, this reincarnation is better than ever. FYI: Some things are not available every day and when crowded the lines tend to move slowly.
Farmer’s Market Salad w/ Salmon. Look how fresh and colorful this looks, the photo was not doctored at all.

Isn’t this just a new location for the same restaurant that’s been around for years? Formerly, Apple Annie’s? It looks to be the same. Some cafeteria style layout with the food behind the glass. Same problems with nothing being available. And from the reviews, same problems with tediously long wait times getting the food and paying for it. Paying for the food has always been a hassle at this place. It’s too bad they still haven’t figured out how to get it done.

I agree that lunch is a pain in the you know what. However, check out Annie’s for breakfast, happy hour and dinner…it’s a completely different scene — totally relaxing and a great atmosphere…not like the other Apple Annie’s at all!
