Can you tell I have nothing to write about today? Ha. Spec’s has been owned by the same Houston family since 1962 and now has locations all around Texas. Austin now has 6 of these behemoth wine, spirits, and finer foods stores. As big as a grocery store, expect to find every kind of wine, liquor, cigar, and beer your heart desires. Besides drinks, they also sell international foods, chocolates, cheeses, holiday food, etc… making it a one stop shop for party planning. Interestingly enough, the tag for every item in the store lists two prices, one price if you pay with credit card and a cheaper price if you pay with cash or debit card. Hungry? You can eat at the deli in the store or they will happily prepare a deli, shrimp, wing, or fruit tray for a event you may be hosting. Prices are probably the lowest in town but Twin Liquors is Austin owned and that is enough for me to take my business there. Closed on Sundays because of Texas law.
