Houston gets a bad rap from Austinites but there are gems to be found in this city.  Just returned from a wonderful weekend and I have to say I’m a fan these days.  Visited El Tiempo, Lizards, Komodo, Reef (Perla’s is based off of this restaurant), Empire Cafe, Spec’s, Onion Creek, El Pueblito, Galliant Knight, Hermann Park, and the Big Easy.  See the weekend below:

Cocoritas from El Pueblito, one and you might need a nap after, two and you are ready to go but will probably order a 3rd, and 3 you are going to need a nap after!  So I hear…..

A beautiful day at Hermann Park, this park has rose gardens, an herb garden, reflection pool, running trail, zoo, paddleboats, Korean garden, train, an amphitheater with free shows, and a 2nd outpost of Little Bigs which serves the best sliders in town.

You went to Onion Creek and didn’t even come by to see our house? We share a gate. I am disapointed. Come back soon, there are plenty more restaraunts worth trying.

Maggie’s Austin must have a boyfriend…word on the street is he’s a surgeon in Houston. Wowee! Hope Maggie’s Austin doesn’t turn into Maggie’s Houston. XOXO
