Frank is downtown Austin’s hot dog mecca as I first wrote about here and here. Their standard menu offers all the classics and a daily menu of specials adds another 15 items to choose from. Dogs aren’t the only standout at Frank. In the back, the store is coming together nicely with everything from a hot dog stress relief ball to cookbooks. Their drink menu is also a force to be reckoned with. While I enjoy bacon flavored vodka as much as the next person, I have not tried the cocktails just yet. I do hear great things though about the master bartenders! Tough call between choosing either a meal at Frank or Man Bites Dog in the South Austin Trailer Park these days! It’s weird to think I was a vegetarian for years until about 6 months ago. How my diet has pulled a 180.

To see pictures of Frank:
Frank and Frank, in the old Starlite location
Chili Cheese Dog, probably the best thing on the menu, but you won’t feel great afterwards!
Zwiebelwurst, from the daily specials menu. Like a bratwurst with horseradish mustard.

You were a vegetarian only 6 months ago? How long were you a vegetarian & how long did it take for your “system” to adapt to the new carnivorous diet you have now?

Oh my goodness, I went to this place once and got the chili cheese dog. It was wayyy too big and hot-doggy for my taste, but their drink menu is amazing! I hope you had some sort of frivolous cocktail in a jar.

A vegetarian for years? I beg to differ!
