24 Diner recently replaced Waterloo Icehouse in downtown Austin.  I’m all about the 24-hour places, as Katz’s can get a bit tiring.  I have to say, 24 Diner’s great food outweighs the slow service.  The food has an Austin touch of many farm to table ingredients.  I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu but if you have a tight lunch break, DO NOT pick this spot!  The restaurant has a very friendly staff who seem happy to be there and I’m sure all the kinks will be worked out soon enough.  This place seems small upon entering but in the back are more booths, and yes I was sat there in between the restrooms and the kitchen.  Should of combed my hair today  This place is very popular and seems to draw a trendy crowd.  Reservations are a good idea.

No-bean chili, so I knew there were no beans when I ordered this but I think they should use more cheese or something, it’s basically a bowl of huge meat chunks.

Small mixed greens salad, awesome mix of goat cheese, pistachios, and more.
