Counter Cafe is a petite Austin diner serving breakfast and lunch all day, as I have written about here, here, here, and here. Yup, personal favorite, the grilled Pimento Cheese is worth the drive alone! I have to make a special mention that their burger was ranked #2 in Texas by Texas Monthly. As far as I’m concerned, Texas Monthly is like the New York Times, I believe anything they tell me! Go only with one or two friends as there are only counter seats, a few two-tops, and one four person table. Like I said, this place is petite and gets jam packed at lunch. You can feel the heat from the grill! I applaud Counter Cafe for their loyalty to using local and organic produce and meat.

I swear you are always one step ahead of us… We were in there the day after you, just like Man Eats Dog, and East Side Showroom. Just when I enjoy something new I find you have posted about it the day before : ) The good news is you have great taste and your posts are always spot on. The burger at Counter Cafe was fantastic. Everything looked great that I saw…and you can see everybodies food because it is very small place. The sweet pototoe fries were the best I have had in Austin.
