Red’s Porch is the newest hotspot in South Austin. The menu is a mashup of Cajun, Tex-Mex, and Southern style cooking and the food is delicious. This is one of those establishments where the drink menu is longer than the food, starting with 60 beers on tap. I could spend all afternoon here on a pretty day as they have dart boards, washer pits, shuffle boards, big screen TVs, and full bar. Grab a seat upstairs and take in the views of the Greenbelt. Life is good at Red’s Porch!

Look for this sign on S Lamar just before 71. The restaurant is behind a bank and cannot be seen from the street.
South Lamar sandwich
Live Oak Heifenweizen
Queso Con Todo minus the chorizo, we had a vegetarian in attendance
Manimal Burger, one of the best burgers i’ve had. If this place was open before Texas Monthly’s Top 50 Burger list was published, I bet it would make the list. Awesome bread.
Upstairs is a great view of Austin, but I had Lila with me and dogs aren’t allowed upstairs.
