The stars have aligned and I’m excited to inform you that Bone Thugs & Harmony are returning to Emo’s April 24, 2010. I saw these guys a couple years ago at Emo’s, and after attending hundreds of concerts, I can say hands down this was the best one of my life. This concert sold out on their last visit so don’t miss out and buy tickets ($16) here today!
Sushi Zushi is Austin’s newest sushi restaurant I first wrote about here. Whenever I’m asked by friends to go, the amazing dynamite mussels pop into my head. The menu is ginormous, good luck picking out rolls! They offer delivery, but there is plenty of free parking inside the garage behind the building. I like this San Antonio transplant, it gives Piranha Sushi a run for their money.

Yes, it’s true, another trailer in Austin! Odd Duck Farm to Trailer is run by Bryce Gilmore, formerly of Wink and Moonshine, also son of Jack Gilmore of Z Tejas fame. Expect a restaurant worthy menu of locally sourced ingredients, use of the whole animal, and a seasonal daily changing menu (printed on the website each day). I don’t know if it was because I was beyond hungry, if the menu fits my taste to a T, or because the food is dang good, but this was one of the best meals I’ve had in ages. The portions are small so definitely order at least two items. It’s cold as heck outside so we called in the order and placed to-go. Go here this week, you will not regret it! FYI: Open Tuesday to Saturday at 5pm.

It definitely feels like February today, bbbrrrrr. Today’s song of the day is ‘How Do You Like Me Now’ by The Heavy, an English indie rock band. On a side note, everyone needs to go to the Parish tomorrow (Tuesday) for Slow Down Lady and Jesse Woods at 8. I will be there!

The greatest thing of having friends live on S. 1st is you can walk to plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Once Over Coffee Bar is one of those great neighborhood institutions where the caffeine and conversation flows. While coffee is the mainstay here, you can also order pastries and sandwiches.
Rockstar Bagel and house coffee.

Today’s Austin LivingSocial Deal of the Day is a 90 minute massage at Massage Envy (8 Austin locations) for $39. Not bad! Who doesn’t love a massage? Click here to buy.
Thai Fresh is the Thai grocer/cooking school/caterer/restaurant/take-out joint I first wrote about here. This South Austin hotspot is only growing as they are knocking down the walls to make the kitchen and grocery one big room. Expect this update to be completed in about 3 weeks. What I love most about this place is how it tastes like home cooking, whether you have a Thai grandma or not. Order at the counter, pick 1-3 items from the deli case, and they will warm and plate your choices. Simple enough. Keep up the good work Jam! FYI: you must order the $2 raw chocolate concoction they offer (got excited and forgot to take a pic). Delish.
